CORCL

In 2013, Carter and Harry Brigham took the opportunity to paddle a bamboo basketboat while on a trip in Vietnam. After a crafter wove them a boat to act as inspiration for a durable, round boat for the U.S. market, they met up with Inna Alesina to collaborate on the creation of the first boat. The Brighams took their boats on a cross-country trip to find their market and returned to alter the original to become a boat specifically for children. After securing manufacturers in Wisconsin (later North Carolina) and Canada and manufacturers’ reps, CORCLs were shown at national summer camp conferences. Directors quickly decided to test out the new product/idea/activity and ultimately CORCLs became one of the most popular waterfront choices for campers.
